Rates

Clear prices, no surprises

Translation rates are calculated per word of the source document. The standard rates are below; you will always receive a free quote for the exact price.

Medical & legal
€0.12 / word
Medical records, doctor's statements, notarial deeds and court judgments, because of the specialized terminology involved.
Minimum rate
€25 / job
A fixed minimum rate of €25 applies to short documents.
+ Send in your document for an exact word count and a quote. Free of charge and usually within one business day.
+ The rates quoted are exclusive of 21% VAT. The quote always states the total amount including VAT, so you know exactly what you will pay in advance. For the €25 minimum rate that comes to €30.25.
How it works

From photo to official translation

No complicated procedure: you send in the document, I take care of the rest. The three steps are below.

1

Send your document

Email a photo or a scan of your document to info@prinsvertaalservice.nl. There is no need to send in the original.

2

Quote & approval

You receive a free quote based on the word count. Once you approve it you receive the invoice, and as soon as it has been paid I get to work.

3

Receive your translation

You first receive a digital version (pdf) by email. The certified paper copy follows by mail.

✓
What is a sworn translation? A translation carrying the stamp and signature of a translator sworn in by a court of law. This makes the document legally recognized by official authorities, including abroad.
✓
Do you need legalization? For use in some countries, the translation also has to be legalized by the court, the ministry and the embassy. You arrange this yourself using the paper copy you receive; I am happy to advise you on the steps to take.
✓
In which direction? I provide sworn translations from Dutch into English. Non-sworn translations I can do in both directions, so from English into Dutch as well.

Frequently asked questions

Anything still unclear?

A few questions that come up regularly.

In the Netherlands a sworn translation is recognized as a matter of course by bodies such as the IND, municipalities, universities and the courts. For use abroad, legalization may be required; I am happy to advise you on whether that applies in your situation.
I provide non-sworn translations in both directions: Dutch-English and English-Dutch. For sworn translations I am registered for the direction Dutch into English.
No, a clear photo or scan by email is enough for me to produce the translation.
You first receive a digital version (pdf) by email, usually within 24 to 48 hours of approving the quote. The official certified paper copy, with stamp and signature, follows by mail.
I work with a fixed turnaround of 24 to 48 hours for every client. Do you have a tight deadline? Mention it in your request and I will see what is possible.
The price is calculated per word of the source document: €0.10 for standard documents and €0.12 for medical and legal documents, with a minimum rate of €25 per job. Send in your document for an exact quote.
Once you have approved the quote you receive an invoice with the payment details. Private clients pay in advance: as soon as the payment comes in, I start on the translation. Business clients also pay in advance for their first job; after that you can pay on invoice.
Almost certainly. The documents listed are the most common ones, but I translate any official document. Send it in and you will receive a quote to match.
